The D. Neil Rettinger Memorial Scholarship was created by Donal and Vonna Rettinger in memory of their son. Niel was a 1967 Triton graduate and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Manchester College in 1971. After serving a brief term in the Navy pilot training program, he was honorably discharged due to medical conditions. He then entered the University of Southern California Optometry School where he graduated in 1978 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He practiced optometry in the states of California and Indiana. This scholarship supports a Triton graduate attending Manchester College.
