Roger Laramore Memorial Scholarship Fund
Graduate of Knox High School
(permanent fund)
Roger Laramore was a lifelong resident of Knox, graduating from Knox schools in 1932.
He received an athletic scholarship for football, basketball, and baseball, and attended Central Normal College. After graduating college, he returned to Knox to start his teaching career before being interrupted to serve overseas during World War II.
Following his military service, he resumed teaching and coaching at Knox. He later became the principal of Knox High School and assistant superintendent.
In recognition of his 45-year career, family members established the Roger Laramore Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Marshall County Community Foundation to continue his support of the youth of Knox High School.
