The Daniel Koontz Scholarship was established in 1999. Dan Koontz was a 1989 graduate of Bremen High School. Dan had a fondness and appreciation for agriculture all of his life. While in High School Dan was a member of the BHS and FFA chapter. He served as the FFA Chapter President his junior and senior year of high school. After graduation, Dan attended Lincoln Technical Institute and majored in electrical design and engineering. He obtained a position with Plymouth Farm Center where he designed and installed many of the electrical components for center pivot irrigation systems. Tragically Dan lost his life in a job-related accident in 1999. He was very well liked and respected by his family, co-workers, friends, and the lives of the many people whom he liked to help.
